Two car ferry companies operate to the Island:
From Southampton Redfunnel
From Portsmouth & lymington Wightlink
They both also offer passenger service along with Hovertravel
For those travelling by foot, or who want to leave their cars at the hotel, the Island has an extensive bus network that continues well into the night. Southern Vectis
There is also a train service from Ryde Pierhead to Shanklin, with a coach service on to Ventnor. Island Trains
For those with an eye for more historic travel, there is the Isle of Wight Steam Railway that operates over a 5 mile stretch and connects to the normal rail line at Smallbrook Junction
